The moment is difficult for the car market: the last quarter shows a drop in registrations of around 30% compared to the same period in 2020. The impact is not on users' reluctance to change cars, but on the lack of micro-components electronics which blocks the production of vehicles, and therefore the delivery of new cars already booked.
Analyzing in more detail the different fuel sources and the continuously increasing fuel prices (methane +100% in a few months!), we notice that the market is inexorably turning its gaze increasingly towards hybrid and electric, so much so that in September the two versions exceeded +66%, and these are the only two sectors to show positive trends.
The excessive power of the Fiat Panda does not tend to diminish, confirming it in first place for over a year. Next we find the small and medium-sized ones from FIAT, Jeep and Renault, which leave no chance for their competitors and take over almost the entire top ten for September. The music doesn't change even between plug-in hybrids and electrics: FCA imposes itself in the hybrid with Jeep and, in the electric, with the new FIAT 500.
The month of July was characterized by reassuring stability in the world of car assistance. The lack of new cars, the shortage of spare parts and a slightly more "lived-in" fleet could tip the barometer towards a period of stability and security for the car repair sector. What is certain is that, if the difficulties in supplying raw materials were to continue, we would once again have to learn to adjust and repair instead of replacing (when possible). But, obviously, what a mechanic did 30 years ago with pliers and a screwdriver, an advanced repairer will now do, with a voltage tester and a soldering iron.
